LogiMAT 2025: Adexin visiting Germany

Another year and another edition of LogiMAT. Considering that this was the second event we visited within two years, the 2025 edition was the same, an incredibly must-visit event. I couldn't go too far, compared to LogiMAT 2024, this event was more of a leading international trade fair than the previous one. However, I leave it to you to assess this on your own.

LogiMAT 2025 was held in Stuttgart, Germany, from March 11 to 13, 2025, and was organized by EUROEXPO Messe — und Kongress-GmbH. This event featured a wide range of leading international trade fair exhibitors presenting cutting-edge intralogistics solutions and process management. A key focus was on reducing energy and resource consumption to promote sustainable logistics. Adexin was among the attendees. Read my short review of this event.

LogiMAT Germany: see highlights on the intralogistics exhibition

So, let's buckle up! When discussing international trade shows organized by EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH with you, I must say more about the important numbers. I decided to start here with a breakdown of the data I gathered on behalf of the organizers. I find it worth highlighting the scale of their event in Stuttgart. But let's first see the LogiMAT numbers.

Event space

Events like this utilize significant exhibition space. For example, in 2013, LogiMAT used 74,000 square meters of space, and this is still ongoing, but it exceeded 125,000 square meters with 68,192 square meters of net exhibit space.

Global event numbers

LogiMAT 2025 maintained its position as a premier intralogistics event, attracting a substantial 65,719 industry experts over three days, closely approaching the previous year's record of 67,420.

LogiMAT 2025 Europe: the future of intralogistics with custom software development

LogiMAT 2025 showcased the burgeoning role of AI in intralogistics solutions and process management, extending beyond traditional WMS enhancements to revolutionize hardware control, machine vision, and robotics. This is given in very short form, but there is much more to say about it. Let me give you a deeper glimpse of what I mean.

So, LogiMAT 2025 spotlighted AI's transformative impact on intralogistics, with innovations across various sectors. I could sum it up in four key areas by looking at the companies that represented them:

  • Automated picking. Nomagic and Element Logic showcased AI-powered robotic solutions for efficient container-to-container picking.

  • Real-time inventory visibility. Sereact's Sereact Lens utilizes AI for automated inventory monitoring, article documentation, and quality control.

  • Streamlined data processing. Eikona Logistics' Print2EDI automates document process management and data transfer. Logistikbude, with Bitergo, demonstrated AI's capability to extract data from PDF documents for WMS integration.

  • Enhanced human capabilities and cutting-edge solutions. Ergonomische Assistenzsysteme unveiled the EASE exoskeleton, featuring AI-driven intention recognition for active lifting and carrying support.

Now it's time for a few more personal points from me. So far, I have shared what was obvious to many. I could say that this was a conference dedicated to intralogistics, despite featuring 11 halls filled with exhibits, a significant focus was placed on autonomous devices, material handling sectors in company material flow, including forklifts and other related technologies.

As software providers, we need to provide our perspective regarding software projects. There was a noticeable divide between those already using SAP solutions and those attempting to implement them. Notably, there was a perceived lack of AI-related projects within the presented software solutions. To sum up:

Positive points at the biggest annual intralogistics event

  • The conference's location was convenient, with the Messe expo complex near the airport

  • The numbering system within the complex was logical and easy to navigate

  • The event showcased a great selection of exhibitors

Negative points and inability to explore cutting-edge solutions

  • The conference application for scheduling meetings saw low user adoption

  • Many presentations were conducted in German, potentially limiting accessibility for non-German speakers. Also hard to learn about intralogistics solutions and process management

  • The weather was unfavorable, with persistent rain

LogiMAT exhibitors: which booth was worth visiting, and which solutions were awarded

LogiMAT 2025 showcased the latest advancements in intralogistics solutions and process management. Organizers shared details of over 120 product submissions, with three innovations recognized for their potential to redefine warehouse efficiency. As promised, LogiMAT gave awards to highlight these breakthroughs.

Companies presented solutions shaping the future of logistics. First was KNAPP's AeroBot, which navigates warehouses in 3D. Second, KATHREIN Solutions' RFID reader enables real-time tracking. Additionally, PSI Software's AI optimizes process management. These technologies are a must-see, demonstrating intralogistics' transformative power.

However, our favorite was the Modula booth. Modula's automated warehouses revolutionize storage with a "goods-to-man" approach, fundamentally changing how items are retrieved. Instead of operators searching through shelves, the system delivers items directly to them. The Modula system, functioning similarly to an elevator, locates and retrieves necessary trays. This method significantly reduces wasted movement and increases picking efficiency. By maximizing vertical space, modular systems can save up to 90% of floor space compared to traditional warehousing.
