From June 18th to 20th, 2025, Barcelona's Fira de Barcelona hosted the SIL Barcelona event, the International Logistics Exhibition. Reflections and impressions from our experience at SIL Barcelona
While SIL Barcelona was a valuable experience, it presented a few unexpected aspects. I noted that the exhibition felt a bit smaller than anticipated from a practical standpoint. Moreover, not all presentations were in English, with many speeches predominantly in Spanish. However, these minor observations were easily overshadowed by the overwhelmingly positive experience.

The Fira de Barcelona venue was remarkably comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, creating a great atmosphere. More importantly, as foreigners, the people we met were incredibly responsive and friendly. This all made every interaction genuinely enjoyable. The conversations we had were truly insightful and stimulating. We were particularly impressed by the array of innovative startups emerging from the Logistics 4.0 Incubator. It's a truly promising initiative that bodes well for the future of our industry.

A comprehensive showcase of solutions and speakers in Barcelona, Spain
A distinguished roster of speakers further enriched the comprehensive program, bringing unparalleled expertise to the discussions. Industry luminaries such as Daniel Acosta, CEO of Grydd; Ramón Adé, Managing Director of Terminal Maritima de Zaragoza; and Jaume Adrover, General Director of GPA, shared their invaluable insights.

They were all joined by experts like Antonio Aguilar from ADIF, Rafael Aguilera from Uno Organizacion Empresarial de Logista y Transporte, and Legal Expert Albert Agustinoy from Cuatrecasas Legal. The presence of thought leaders ensured a diverse and robust exploration of the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of logistics. I enjoyed hearing from them.
You can see some testimonials here from Cristian Oller and from Miryam Torrecilla.

The exhibition floor was a testament to the industry's evolution, with offerings spanning:
Transport, logistics, and distribution services. From traditional land, railway, air, and sea transport companies to modern logistics operators, freight forwarders, customs services, MaaS providers, and messaging or courier services.
Intralogistics. Including containers, palletization, forklifts, lifting and handling equipment, conveyor belts, fulfillment, picking systems, POD storage, printing and scunning solutions, and critical warehouse management systems (WMS).
Technology and IT. Showcasing connected fleets and smart logistics, device and asset management, ICT applied to logistics, identification, coding, and labeling systems, and integrated ITMS traffic management systems.
Infrastructures. Featuring connected environments, free trade zones, public administrations, smart cities, and, of course, smart mobility.
